Staying fit and maintaining proper weight is indeed a healthy practice. Accomplished bodybuilders as well as fitness enthusiasts tend to keep track of their body fat. But it’s becoming a fad to maintain a lower fat quotient among fitness fanatics. IFBB pros like Flex Wheeler, Greg Doucette, and others have often pointed out such alarming practices.
Recently, Doucette shared a video on his social media pointing at a fitness influencer who, apparently, maintains an alarmingly low body fat. The IFBB pro states that there are plenty of bodybuilders who touch upon the lowest fat percentage at a point in their life. However, Doucette claims people shouldn’t remain at that stage as it could amount to some harmful changes in the body.

Mentioning Eubank’s lean measurements, Doucette got candid about him in a recent YouTube video. The IFBB pro tried to denote the consequences of excessive training and minimal body fat at such a young age as Eubank. The 47-year-old athlete exclaimed, “Stop trying to maintain a single-digit body fat…Stop this. Stop the insanity.”
Moreover, the bodybuilder also put forth a juxtaposition and explained, “It’s analogous to trying to climb a mountain. The higher you climb the mountain, the harder it gets thinner air. But what Alex is doing is he hanging three courses the way up the mountain and hanging out there for life.” His point of concern here is that the young athlete is attempting to maintain his peak physique at all times, running on a very low-fat composition. This, in turn, could be dangerous for Eubank’s health. Therefore, Doucette reasoned it’s not healthy to maintain a single-digit body fat percentage and argued these practices will cost such young bodybuilders in the long run.
As per reports, Alex Eubank, 22, is a digital content creator and a fitness influencer who is very meticulous about his physique. In fact, his pumped body and shredded stature earned him the moniker ‘The Greek God’. Standing 5’9″ tall and weighing 117 lbs, Eubank claims to maintain a lower body fat percentage. Pondering upon the same, Doucette assumed the cause behind this “insanity”.
The IFBB pro cited an infectious reason
While talking about this trend among young bodybuilders, Doucette described, “It’s the pressure of social media. People think you need to look perfect as if Alex Eubank is not close enough.” Per the IFBB icon, this idea has created a sense of insecurity among them. Thus, they are going off-limits to become “perfect.”

There’s indeed no parameter to fill in to be satisfied with what one has. So, Doucette came up with a simpler solution, “You will never be satisfied. So, my advice, be happy right now.” There’s nothing wrong to prove yourself, but putting your health in danger just to get likes and validation on social media, is indeed a very critical practice, according to him.
