Big Ramy aka Mamdouh Elssbiay rose to prominence after winning Olympia back in 2020 and 2021. However, he couldn’t win the coveted title again in 2022 as that time Hadi Choopan came out victorious, giving tough competition to the former Mr Olympia.
Further, the year 2023 was spent in combating multiple injuries. Before he announces competing in the upcoming Olympia 2024, Samir Bannout, the former bodybuilding coach, has revealed something that can ensure Ramy’s win this year if he puts his heart and soul into it.

In a recent video uploaded by the Old School Lab YouTube channel, Samir Bannout, in a conversation with John Hansen, talked about Ronnie Coleman and Dorian Yates’ prowess at Olympia. Along with this, he shared his opinion about Big Ramy and his chances at retaking the Mr Olympia title in 2024. Bannout said, “Rami is still young, he’s not old” but he is not “as focused as Dorian as Dorian was winning the contest because he was putting his heart and soul into it. Nobody had better tunnel vision than Dorian.”
Taking the conversation ahead, he said the same of bodybuilding GOAT, Ronnie Coleman. “I would say Ron Coleman did too. So in order to be the best of the best, you have to put your mind 100%. And yes let’s keep health the top priority.” According to him, if Big Ramy puts his mind to the competition and takes care of his health, he can strengthen his chances of winning Olympia this year.
A few days ago, Ramy posted a video on his Instagram account showing off his physique at its best. His fans predicted that he must have been gearing up for the big competition. However, no clarity came on which competition he was going to participate in. But one thing is evident, he has his eyes on the biggest goals this new year.
