Multi-talented legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career has become an epitome of admiration for fans after years of determination. But as he said in an interview, he did not achieve all this by himself. He often remembers those who stood by him and helped him build the life he has in the USA. After gaining the attention of the bodybuilding pros, he started working with Joe Weider. He asked for a reliable partner with whom he could train. Arnie ?could thrive without money, without my parents,? but he couldn?t thrive without his best friend. This friend was Franco Columbu.

Unfortunately, Franco passed away in 2019 while swimming in Sardinia. The 78-year-old Italian bodybuilder passed away in his homeland. Arnold always discusses his long friendship with the legendary bodybuilder and the activities they did together. Recently in his fitness newsletter, Schwarzenegger discussed a memory with his friend that he still continued to cherish.

Arnold Schwarzenegger recently shared a newsletter where he picked up, and selected questions from fans and answered them. One of the questions was about him, and his best friend who loved playing chess together. The fan asked, ?Hey Arnold I know you and Franco loved to play chess. Who won more games between the two of you??

Arnie remembered the good times, which he had also talked about in an interview, and talked about how the duo played chess together while smoking a cigar and drinking wine. He said, ?Franco and I were pretty evenly matched! If I ended up with more wins than him, it was only because of the games after he’d had a few glasses of his homemade wine. I still see him every day when I walk past my chess table.?

Even after Columbu’s death Schwarzenegger never leaves a chance to bring up his friend. Prreviously, he had talked about the Italian bodybuilder in an Instagram post.

Arnold remembers Franco in his social media

In a?previous Instagram video, the seven-time Mr. Olympia?was seen sitting with an open book. He was looking at the pictures from his past life and reminiscing the beautiful moments. One particular page featured his best friend Franco Colombu?s picture. He also revealed that his best friend and lead athlete was known to be a doctor and chiropractor.

?And he was my best friend,? added Arnie. He also expressed,??I wish that everyone has a friend like Franco.? Arnie cherished his friendship with the late bodybuilder and still continues his best to immortalize him.
