In a recent Instagram post, Lee Priest shared his thoughts on the necessity of belts while lifting heavy weights. On being asked if he wore a belt during workouts, he answered, “When I was younger, I put the belt on when I got about four or five. I think more of it with me was more of a mental thing. You just feel that secure so your lower back won’t go out.”
Apart from the belt, he gets support from his mindset. Continuing further, he said that if one chooses to lift heavy then, he would probably recommend the belt, but not on a low weight. He suggested using a belt is always a good approach when one is going to train with heavy weights but not while lifting low weights.
