Strongman Hafthor Bjornsson, who played The Mountain on Game of Thrones recently lost his newborn baby girl Grace Morgan Hafthorsdottir after the child passed away on November 8 at 21 ½ weeks of gestation. The strongman actor’s sister revealed the news to the world through a grief-stricken Instagram post.
No matter how big or strong one is, or how dangerous and tough a character they play on TV or in films, the loss of a child is painful enough to break them down. Bjornsson is no different in this regard.

Hafthor Bjornsson’s sister, Hafdis Lind Bjornsson, recently took to her official Instagram, @hafdislindbjornsson, and reshared the series of posts shared by Hafthor Bjornsson and his wife in her Instagram story. In her story, she wrote, “You will always be in our hearts, your memory will always live on Grace Morgan, love you so much🤍🕊️”.
Hafthor Bjornsson once again reshared her story on his Instagram account and wrote, “Miss you forever, and ever. 🕊️” The loss clearly has taken the better of the Mountain. He is visibly hurting on an emotional level as one can only imagine the immense sadness that comes with the loss of a child.

The couple was struggling their way to conceive baby Grace Morgan, and after so many months of trying and then finally getting pregnant, a loss like this somehow hurts far worse. Bjornsson had been rather vocal about his partner and him trying to conceive and the problems they had been facing along the way.

Hafthor Bjornsson shared his tumultuous journey of having babies
Earlier, in one of his YouTube videos, where he was seen sharing his journey with his wife Kelsey, Hafthor Bjornsson spoke about how infertility and IVF had been playing a significant role in their life lately. He said, “We’ve been trying yeah, like literally, for 3 years. Nothing happening. We tried another IVF”.

It took them two years to get pregnant with their firstborn Stomer and then a few more months to conceive Grace. Grace’s loss has the mourning couple dealing with grief only parents can ever know and although they are trying to make peace with what has occurred, tears don’t seem to be dying down anytime soon.
One can only hope that the couple recovers in whatever way they can and try to move on with their lives, while keeping the memories of the baby alive, immortalized in their hearts.
