Renee Landers is known among the bodybuilding community, for her brawny avatar at the age of 71 years. While most people of her age are on frequent visits to the hospital for medical checkups, Landers is busy competing at bodybuilding shows. Her first competition was at age 69 back in 2021.
She is currently training to compete in the 7th event of her career and posted an Instagram video sharing a posing session with her followers. She is proud of her journey from lumbar fusion surgery to being a bodybuilder in her seventies as reflected by the post.

The zeal of the grandma to better herself physically is quite inspirational. And the bodybuilder is leaving no stone unturned to give her best in the upcoming NPC Masters nationals. In her Instagram post, she informed her fans that her 7th competition is nearing. In the reel, the bodybuilder granny was seen flaunting her fit figure in a blue two-piece bikini.
“Posing Practice! 8 1/2 Weeks out from NPC masters nationals in Pittsburgh,” she wrote in the caption. She thanked her posing coach Brittany Ann who is helping her with the preparation for the competition by focussing on fine-tuning. “Little things make a big difference! Still a work in progress… practice makes progress!” opined Landers in the post.
She also hinted to her followers that one could figure out a couple of tiny slits while she was back posing. Those are the scars of her lumbar fusion surgery back in 2009. “I did not let a little thing like that stop me,” a proud bodybuilding grandma added. The fitness influencer with 37.1K followers once shared her experience of competing in her first show at 69 years. She revealed that she went on to the dias after donning a sparkly and skimpy bikini but was scared all the while.
But she was placed 6th in the competition which boosted her spirits and there is no stopping for the 71-year-old ever since. And she credits her consistency with diet and workout for her physique.
