There can never be enough awareness about the use of steroids, especially in the bodybuilding sphere. Therefore, notable athletes like Flex Wheeler, Ronnie Coleman, and others encourage young upcoming athletes to steer away from the chemicals and envision a natural build. Similarly, IFBB pro, Greg Doucette joined in on the anti-steroids parade, while explaining an alarming instance of a 20-year-old gym goer.

Doucette brought TikTok influencer and bodybuilding fanatic, Jonathan Joshua James’ story to light in his recent YouTube video, on his self-titled channel. The latter began taking steroids on his very first day at the gym, probably to speed up his gaining process. Therefore, shocked by his dangerous feat, the pro revealed the irreversible damage he is suffering from due to his actions.

As per the video, the Canadian star athlete was alarmed by James’s efforts to build an impressive physique within a short period of time. Hence, the title caption read, “Steroids Ruined Him….” He displayed a picture of the 150-lb gym goer’s chest and back, filled with red acne popping out from every inch of his skin. Taking a glimpse at his back, Doucette promptly said, “This is not good, irreversible back acne back knee scars that he’s going to have to live with for the rest of his life, and for what?”

He then pointed out that the 6’1” influencer could’ve put on similar gains naturally if he would have trained harder and consistently at the gym. This could also have saved him from the unpleasant side effects, which are permanent damage now. “Guy had newbie gains in the tank, couple of years in the gym most likely could’ve got him the same physique with no acne whatsoever,” the Guinness World Record holder suggested.

Further iterating the consequences of training with steroids, he warned, “If you start with steroids from day one, you don’t know what it’s like to train natural and when you stop the steroids you are going to hate training, I promise you that.” His revelations are undebatable as the fast results influenced by the drugs can never be achieved through natural training. Therefore, if one decides to change routes, and choose organic builds after getting accustomed to steroids, it’s a difficult road. On a similar note, eight-time Mr. Olympia, Ronnie Coleman also recently expressed his regret for using steroids back in his competing days.

The champion added, “A lot of people think drugs was going to put on all that size…No you had to eat and you can take all the drugs in the world but if you ain’t eating you will not grow.” He opened up about his personal experience with drugs and claimed that he learned it “the hard way,” In contrast to his prime days, he requires support for performing even basic exercises today.
