Dorian Yates channeled all the hatred into a positive force

Dorian Yates recently took to his official Instagram account and shared snippets of his interview with Stuart Harrington. He began by saying that he kept himself away from anything or anyone who did not believe in him. “I took all the negative things. I took all the anger that I had about my life. What happened, whatever, doesn’t matter what it is. You take it all and put it all into the training,” Yates explained how he channeled all the negativity into his dedication to the sport.

Yates believes in the chemical process of turning something negative and channeling all the energy and aggression into something positive. He further added that he took all of his negative emotions and put them into his regular workouts. This was what made him triumph in all the battles he faced in his life, including those in bodybuilding.
Even after 26 years of his retirement, Yates continues to believe in this mantra. Once, he had even opened up about all the ups and downs he had gone through along the path to success, while asking fitness enthusiasts to follow a specific advice of his.

In one of his posts, where Dorian Yates shared a transformation picture of himself, he reminisced about the process he underwent in the bid to reach the Mr. Olympia stage. “Enjoy the journey!” he wrote. One of the pictures was from 1983, when he had barely stepped into serious bodybuilding. On the right, showcasing the journey, Yates portrayed a picture of himself at his peak.
Recalling the tumultuous journey, he wrote, “I sacrificed a lot in my quest to conquer the bodybuilding world. In the end, it all paid off!” His story is a testament to the sweet fruit that consistency and determination reap. Through most of his posts, the Englishman continues to advise his followers to never give up, no matter how hard the road gets.
