Late competitive bodybuilder Jo Lindner’s family has started a social media page to honor their son’s legacy. Lindner, better known to the fitness world as Joesthetics, was a legend in the online fitness and bodybuilding communities. Lindner inspired millions, and they still mourn the bodybuilder’s passing. Yet, when the Lindners announced their plans, their late son’s fans didn’t approve.
The Lindner family announced their plans to realize two projects to keep his legacy alive. The Joesthetics Forever Instagram page posted that a family member would write the Men’s Physique bodybuilder’s biography. Meanwhile, the fitness influencer’s father is working to launch a perfume with Joesthetics branding. While they said they did not seek to make a profit, the fans didn’t believe them.

In their post, the Lindners explained that a family member who had known the fitness influencer all his life had offered to write the biography. They said the biography would chronicle the bodybuilder’s journey from childhood to his struggles, social media and bodybuilding success, and final days in Pattaya, Thailand. They also claimed that Joestheitcs loved fragrances.

In fact, to honor his love for fragrances, the bodybuilder’s father has initiated a project to launch a series of perfumes in his name. The post also stated that Joesthetics and his father often discussed their love of perfumes. While the fitness influencer worked with supplement companies, fans didn’t remember him professing his love for fragrances. While one of the late bodybuilder’s influencer friends commented that Jo Lindner loved perfumes, most fans questioned the intention behind the announcement.

The fitness community voiced their disapproval
Fans had a hard time believing everything the post claimed. “Please don’t start selling stuff in his name. RIP Joe,” commented one fan. They mentioned that they are not undertaking the projects to “profit personally,” and would donate part of the earnings to charity. However, one fan wrote, “I feel like family/or someone wants to make money on his death… I hope I’m very wrong.”
Another fan questioned the fragrances that Joesthetic’s father plans to release. “The only thing I smell here is squeezing every last $ from the death of a wonderful soul…” wrote one fan. Another longtime fan had similar doubts. “I don’t think that would be in Joe’s best interest. I don’t remember him ever talking about a fragrance he wanted to launch, but I do remember that the relationship between Joe and his father wasn’t the best. So why are you doing this s**t now? Let him rest in peace and let him be remembered as a legend,” the fan wrote.

“Can’t be right to use his death for money. His Instagram page was his work, and it should remain as he wanted it to be,” wrote another. While many didn’t question the fitness influencer’s family and their intentions, many others seemed appalled. However, only time will tell if the Lindners issue a response to the fans who are doubtful.
