At 75 years old, Arnold Schwarzenegger can reflect on a lifetime of success. In his recent Netflix docu-series, the seven-time Mr. Olympia did just that. However, Schwarzenegger also looked back on the mistakes he made and the losses he suffered along the way. The bodybuilding icon mourned losing some of his best friends and mentors over the years. However, barely two months after the release of his documentary, Arnie lost another friend.
Earlier today, the bodybuilding icon took to social media and posted about losing his friend Ralf Crawford. Crawford wasn’t one of Schwarzenegger’s training partners or Hollywood friends. Neither was he from the sphere of politics. However, the artist had a special connection with the 75-year-old fitness icon.

A few hours ago, Arnold Schwarzenegger took to social media and posted about his late friend, the artist and sculptor, Ralf Crawford. “Ralph Crawford was a great artist and a fantastic friend,” wrote Arnie. “I will miss him a lot,” added the seven-time Mr. Olympia. The Hollywood action star stated that Crawford’s legacy will live on.
“He will live on through his sculptures all over the world and through his loving family and friends,” the Austrian Oak wrote. The bodybuilding icon shared a special connection with the sculptor, as Crawford was the one who made not one, but two iconic statues of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnie wrote he is “tremendously proud,” that Crawford made his statues.
One of Ralf Crawford’s statues stands in front of Schwarzenegger’s childhood home in Austria. The second iconic statute stands in Columbus, Ohio. However, these were not the only two works of art Crawford crafted for Schwarzenegger. The 75-year-old revealed that Crawford also crafted the Arnold Classic trophy.
