IFBB Hall of Famer Lee Labrada was among the most aesthetic bodybuilders of his generation. While Labrada never defeated the 8x Mr. Olympia Lee Haney to earn a Sandow, he became a legend of the sport regardless. His son Hunter Labrada followed in his father’s footsteps into bodybuilding but is yet to surpass his father’s competitive record. However, he has been hard at work to enter the Olympia top five this year.
After finishing 6th in 2023, the 32-year-old aims to beat his previous record of placing fourth at the 2021 Mr. Olympia. So this year, the bodybuilding star has gone on a massive bulk. The IFBB Pro reached 300 lbs at 5’9, during the first week of May. However, with 13 weeks left from his planned stage appearance, Labrada dieted down to 284lbs. However, some fans didn’t seem impressed.
The bodybuilding legend’s son showed off his through various competitive bodybuilding poses. However, the one that stood out was the front double biceps. The pose showcased Hunter Labrada in all his off-season glory. While he lacked the shredded look, his muscles looked defined despite cutting the weight gradually. His midsection also looked tight, with visible six-pack abs.

Yet, bodybuilding fans didn’t find Lee Labrada’s son to be as impressive as his father once was. In fact, some were quite harsh in pointing out what his physique lacked. Despite being Lee Labrada’s son, some even said he lacked the genetics to win a Sandow.
Bodybuilding fans critiqued Hunter Labrada’s physique
“Not genetically blessed!” wrote one fan. Another fan pointed out exactly which part of his body lacked the most genetically aesthetic muscles. “Hunter’s Weak point is back. If he had a better back he would be the best,” wrote the fan. Meanwhile, another fan blasted Labrada for the lack of conditioning. “Could already be his competition form in the picture, because he always looks the same, soft.” the fan commented.

However, one fan criticized modern bodybuilding that nudged competitors like Labrada to put on as much mass as possible. “Nowadays bodybuilding everyone is 280-300 pounds relatively lean. Yet you can’t see any definition. Zero separation, everyone got the same puffy look,” the fan wrote. However, a handful defended the 32-year-old. “Those who said that Hunter is not genetically gifted are out of their minds,” one bodybuilding fan commented.
“280 lbs with tapered waist. And did you notice how his triceps just pops when hitting the side chest? Dude keeps improving… Sure Hunter doesn’t have the best lower back but by no means his back is weak,” the fan explained.
