However, it is not devoid of failures. Sergio Oliva Sr. is one of the three bodybuilders who defeated Arnold Schwarzenegger during the latter’s illustrious career. The bodybuilding world is well aware of their rivalry. Sergio Oliva Jr., the son of 3x Mr. Olympia, followed his father’s suit and is a professional bodybuilder.

Recently, Sergio Oliva Jr. recalled advice given to him, by his father’s rival, Arnold Schwarzenegger. He took to his Instagram channel to narrate the story.

The bodybuilding world was happy to witness Sergio Oliva’s onstage domination till Arnold Schwarzenegger came from Austria to rule the bodybuilding scene in America. The Myth is the only person to defeat Schwarzenegger in a Mr. Olympia contest, in 1969.

His son, Sergio Oliva Jr., also aspires to lift the Sandow trophy like his father. He keeps his fans updated with his training regime. However, this year was a rough patch for the young athlete. From being detained in Dubai to losing his companion of 12 years, his dog, Oliva Jr., is surely having some tough times. His recent post, however, dealt with his father’s rival. 

@schwarzenegger told me back at the Mr. Munich competition that he had a new posing routine from America. He told me the new thing is to scream while posing.” he wrote in a post. He also shared his photos of roaring while posing, adhering to the Austrian Oak’s advice. However, he calls it, “#TheWrongAdvicez.” Earlier, the 38-year-old spoke about a controversial rule that restricted his late father from participating in Mr. Olympia.

Opening about it, his son confessed, “Joe makes a rule that you can’t compete in another federation.” But his dad was banned from participating as Oliva Sr. competed for the 1971 NABBA Mr. Universe. The 38-YO made a sad confession, “Arnold won the Olympia and my dad was suspended.”
