In a recent post on Tiktok, the Comeback King shared a video in which he talks about how he protected himself from injury during training days. The bodybuilding icon has a conversation with his viewers while working out at the gym. The video also showcases his massage therapist, who talks about the technique he uses on Cutler for both recovery and muscle growth and agility.

The champion said: “A lot of guys, when they get to the top, start training heavier and heavier because, of course, as you get stronger and stronger, your weight climbs, and they get injured”. The Quad Stomper further adds “So try to be a smart bodybuilder and at the same time be the best, which, you know, people confuse the two a little bit”. Cutler is pointing to the problematic behavior of top-level bodybuilders who do not take breaks to recover properly. Even he made the mistake of doing the same thing and faced harmful consequences.

Therapy played an important part in Cutler’s success

Mr. Olympia’s massage therapist, Cole Snyder, was shown deeply massaging Cutler’s muscles in the video. Snyder said that it would help Cutler with recovery as well as movement during posing. The therapist added, “Most of what we target during our massage is definitely trying to wake them up and heal any type of injury. The majority of strokes today use our technique called Structural Integration and Neuromuscular therapy.”

However, it is not easy; in fact, “some of it is very painful for Jay.” This goes on to show the level of sacrifice and hard work that bodybuilding icons like Jay Cutler put in.
