Arnold Schwarzenegger exploded onto the local bodybuilding scene in Austria as a teenager. In fact, the Austrian Oak became Mr. Olympia before turning 23. However, before Arnold Schwarzenegger became enamored with bodybuilding after seeing an image of Reg Park in a magazine, he used to play soccer. His father, Gustav, didn’t support Arnie’s bodybuilding hobby but had no qualms with soccer.

However, Arnie left soccer and Austria behind to pursue his bodybuilding dreams in America. Today, soccer is making a resurgence in America after Lionel Messi became the highest-paid athlete on U.S. soil with his over $54 million contract with Inter Miami. As the soccer world is abuzz with the World Cup winner’s recent performances at Inter Miami, the 76-year-old fitness icon showed he still hasn’t forgotten his childhood hobby.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has still got the moves

The seven-time Mr. Olympia posted on social media to get his fans moving. Nearly every post the 76-year-old makes is to motivate his fans to shun a sedentary lifestyle. However, his latest post had a surprise many fans didn’t expect. The bodybuilding icon posted a picture of himself dribbling a soccer ball in the air. Despite his age, the 76-year-old looks nimble in the picture.

“Get outside and get moving for fun this weekend,”?the former governor wrote in his post.?“I always tell our village to play soccer, go on hikes, swim with their kids, or do anything fun,”?added the former Mr. Universe. While the champion bodybuilder wants everyone to go to the gym to get fit, there are other ways to train as well.

Arnie said he wants to remind others,?“We are training to get better and have more fun in life.”?He also asked his fans to tell him which fun activity they plan to do this weekend.?“You can inspire each other in the comments,”?wrote Arnie. Watching the fitness icon play soccer excited the fans.
