As depressing as it may sound, every year the bodybuilding world witnesses the untimely demise of athletes. However, that doesn’t mean each death leaves any less impact than the one before. Hence, the community was yet again shocked and saddened to learn about 37-year-old IFBB Pro, Cintia Goldani’s sudden demise.

Just a week ago, the IFBB Figure competitor posted a clip from her intense shoulder workout and today, she is no longer with us. Tragically, Goldani’s pro career had only started taking flight as she had earned her pro card in March 2023. MUSCLECONTEST International, where she made her pro last year, broke the news of her passing.

MUSCLECONTEST International’s original post was in Portuguese. A rough translation of the post attributes her untimely death, “due to complications from pneumonia.” Instagram bodybuilding page bisandtris reposted the news confirming that the bodybuilding star had indeed passed away due to pneumonia-related complications.

46-year-old Mariza Luis was also seemly healthy when he went to attend a FIBO event in Cologne, Germany in April. However, the Canada-born, Portugal-based champion bodybuilder died due to a heart attack in his hotel room. Just as the bodybuilding community mourned Luis’s death, it was no different this time around.

Bodybuilding veterans and fans alike mourned Cintia Goldani

The news of the Brazilian’s demise shocked bodybuilding veterans like Milos Sarcev and Greg Doucette. “So friggen young. Pneumonia,” commented the IFBB Pro, Coach Greg. Similarly, 2024 Emrpo Classic winner Behrooz Tabani’s coach, and former Mr. Universe, Milos Sarcev also reacted. “OMG. Sincere condolences to her family and friends. RIP Cintia,” wrote the 60-year-old.

“It seems like every day we see one of these posts, unfortunately. May she rest in peace,” wrote one concerned fan. “Pneumonia that’s crazy. Sleep with the Angels and Rip lady,” commented another shocked fan. Meanwhile, some theorized that PED usage may have led Goldani to develop deadly complications. “I think she died from using too much steroids,” wrote a fan. However, people involving ste***ds in the conversation did so without concrete proof.

The 37-year-old rising bodybuilding star isn’t the first athlete to meet an untimely demise. Unfortunately, she may not be the last bodybuilder to meet a tragic demise. However, this doesn’t soften the blow of Cintia Goldani’s passing.
