His dedication to training earned him four Mr. Olympia titles, and the icon is now aiming for his fifth win. However, the struggle to get there still continues. The 28-year-old bodybuilding icon, who never hides his weaker self, recently opened up about his difficulties in preparation for the upcoming Mr. Olympia.

The 4x Mr. Olympia shared an overwhelming video on YouTube revealing his fragile yet strong self as he meticulously follows his training routine.

Chris Bumstead’s training struggles

The 28-year-old is known for his rigorous training regime at the gym to ace a physique that resembles the Golden Era legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger. CBum has been vocal about his health issues and injuries. He recently opened up about his lurking thoughts while gearing up for 2023 Mr. Olympia.

Every year brings new challenges. This year certainly hasn’t been short of them. I toss and turn at night, stuck in my thoughts, staring at the ceiling, asking myself, ‘Why am I doing this? Is any of this even worth it?’” confessed the bodybuilding icon. In the video that captures his daily routine from meal prep to training, CBum became overtly candid about his life.

Extreme life changes, living in fear, health scares, injuries, personal stress, more and more responsibilities,” the champion revealed his struggles. However, time and again, CBum has proved that he would never back off due to impediments. “I never wanted an easy life! I wanted the strength to earn a life worth living,” he declared in his video. Earlier, the Classic Physique maestro opened up about his training strategy for this year.

CBum is taking it slow this year

One needs tireless efforts to mold the physique that could win Mr. Olympia titles. So, CBum never compromised on his training routine for a decade. However, this year has been extremely testing for the determined bodybuilding icon. So, CBum is not considering a long training schedule and is walking the path at a slow pace.

You see your goals for the forest, and then you get into the forest, and everything kind of closes in,” CBum earlier narrated while comparing himself to a forest wanderer who lost the path but walked through it with hope. “So, I’m doing is taking this one step at a time, one work at a time, one day at a time,” he revealed.

Mr. Olympia 2023 is just a few weeks away, and bodybuilding fans can’t wait to witness Chris Bumstead’s physique onstage.
