The 2024 competitive season is over for Slovak bodybuilding sensation Michal ‘Krizo’ Krizanek. Although the mass monster went into the EMPRO Classic with a ton of hype, he finished third. However, fans pointed out the bodybuilder’s lack of conditioning and shaking during the posing. Michal Krizo made a video saying that he was dealing with a shoulder injury, and things are far worse than they might have seemed.

Michal Krizo has been dealing with shoulder problems for two years. So, the bodybuilding sensation has had problems ever since his sensational appearance on the Olympia stage. Krizo spoke to bodybuilding journalist and YouTuber Nick Miller, aka Nick’s Strength and Power. “Hi. I must go for laparoscopy surgery. Right shoulder. I have a problem,” he texted the YouTuber.

Although the Slovakian struggled with his English, he conveyed that the condition had gotten much worse. “I can’t train good, or pose good, and I take a lot of pills for pain,” confessed the bodybuilding icon. The bodybuilder is currently suffering from a fever and has an “aversion” to food. He had canceled his Flex Pro classic appearance, but won’t be appearing at the EVLS Pro later this year either.

The EVLS Pro is scheduled for November 2024, after Mr. Olympia, which meant he was done trying to qualify for this year’s Olympia. This lined up with his claim of not trying to qualify for the Super Bowl of Bodybuilding in the video he made after his Empro Classic loss. However, Krizo told Miller that he plans to take the entire year off and “compete in the Arnold Classic,” in 2025.

While Krizo’s shoulder problems may derailed his plans, it’s not the only problem. The fever and lack of appetite seem to be a seemingly unrelated issue that also plagued the Slovakian bodybuilding icon before the Empro Classic.

The bodybuilding icon had a Ronnie Coleman-like episode

The year was 2001, and Ronnie Coleman was ready to defend his Mr. Olympia title. The bodybuilder had won the Arnold Classic earlier that year and was on the cusp of making history. However, on the day of the show he got sick, felt dehydrated, and nearly pulled out. Coleman’s nutritionist saved the day by telling him to drink lots of water. Coleman recovered just in time to defend his title, but despite winning looked flat under the stage lights.

These were the exact circumstances Michal Krizo had to deal with before stepping on the Empro Classic stage. Krizo had to drink 1.5 liters of water to recover from dehydration before stepping on stage. This resulted in the bodybuilding icon losing his muscle definition and falling to third place. However, the mass monster hasn’t lost faith.

Although Michal Krizo hit a rough spot, he understood that he needed to heal and rest. So despite giving up on the current competitive season, Michal Krizo looks to come back stronger next year.
