Slovakian bodybuilding icon Michal Krizo Krizanek announced that he will not participate in the 2024 Mr. Olympia competition due to a shoulder injury. Fans were disappointed with the unfortunate news. However, because of his injury, he faced difficulty in posing in a recent competition and as a result placed third.

Krizanek was therefore forced to withdraw from other competitions as well, including the Portugal Pro on July 7th. However, he assured his fans that he might compete later this year at the EVLS Prague Pro to qualify for the 2025 Mr. Olympia.

The sad development was shared by Bis and Tris on Instagram, who posted, “REPORT: @ifbb_pro_michalkrizokrizanek will not be pursuing the 2024 @mrolympiallc due to a shoulder injury.” Italian reporter AJ Kelly Robert was one of the first to break the news.

He detailed the challenges Michal Krizanek has faced, stating, “Top Olympian and international superstar @ifbb_pro_michalkrizokrizanek IS OUT of this @mrolympiallc. @ifbb_pro_michalkrizokrizanek has been suffering with a shoulder issue for a long time that has hindered his training and posing ability.”

Robert also mentioned that the injury had been affecting the Slovakian mass monster for a while, impacting his performance significantly. “As you saw in Spain, his posing was very difficult since his shoulder was in pain and he was not able to make the necessary improvements needed to climb the ladder,” Kelly Robert explained.

This ongoing issue has forced Krizanek to withdraw from other competitions such as the Portugal Pro and the Dubai event this summer, all of which were qualifying round for the 2024 Olympia. Michal Krizanek’s priority now is to recover fully and come back stronger. He aims to return to the EVLS Prague Pro after the Olympia and secure his qualification for the 2025 Mr. Olympia. His team and fans are optimistic about him making a stronger comeback.

“We wish him a speedy recovery and we are looking forward to the NEW and improved Krizo at the EVLS Prague Pro,” Robert added. Additionally, Krizo has expressed interest in securing an invitation to the Arnold Sports Festival, aiming to expand his competitive presence once he is back at full strength. The Slovakian icon expressed his gratitude toward the sponsors and wrote in the caption of an Instagram clip, “Such a short statement about the competition in Spain and what else sorry for those drunk eyes but I did not sleep for almost 2 days properly and I am tired from the fest.”

Despite the injury, Krizanek showed sportsmanship and participated in the EMPRO Classic. However, he failed to defend his title and placed third behind William Bonac and Behrouz Tabani. Even with this setback, he was determined to recover and considered participating in the Mr. Big Evolution 2024, while also congratulating Bonac on his win. This latest update, however, has disappointed his fans and bodybuilding enthusiasts, who were eager to see him shine at the event.
