Taking to Instagram, a 62-year-old remarkably fit granny, Holly Would Stevens-Tam, posted a reel elaborating on the importance of postures. In the video, she displays three ‘Superhero Stances’ similar to those of the much-loved “Superman” character in popular media. The slow-motion video has a pop-up that says “This is 62” followed by a jump with her arms raised upwards. In the second pose, she holds her waist with one hand and her other hand extended upwards to the side, showing a superhuman flight to the universe. In the third pose, she is bending and touching the ground.

Holly explains, “The ‘superhero stance’ projects power, which is what psychologists refer to as an open posture. Research shows that assuming a high-power pose can raise an individual’s testosterone levels. High-power posers report feeling more powerful than low-power posers.” The ultra-fit grandmother further highlighted the power stance’s positive impact on the hormonal health of women. She adds, “Our bodies change our minds, and our minds change our behavior, and our behavior changes our outcomes.”
