Dorian Yates’ video was accompanied by a simple yet powerful caption: “Keep your feet planted!” It’s a common sight in the gym to see people shuffling their feet during pressing movements. Adding that, he saw people, “Shifting and using energy that should be focused and targeted to the area you are working.”

He further added, “What I advise to my online clients is to keep your feet planted. Think of them as being stuck in concrete, they should be still. From here what you should do is think of the energy being built up within you and firing through from your feet, right the way to your hands.”

The key here is to establish a strong mind-muscle connection. He stated “This is where the mind-muscle connection comes into play, everything should ideally be still besides what you need to work the muscle. Energy should be driving throughout your body, putting maximum effort into each aspect of the rep.”

The legendary bodybuilder often shares such tips on his social media. Recently, Dorian Yates shared an archived video showcasing his intense training style on his Instagram account.
