In a recent video shared with fitness influencer Tanner Shuck on his YouTube channel, bodybuilding legend Dorian Yates shared some insights into his philosophy of training. He also pointed out the biggest mistake that he sees many young bodybuilders making. Yates opened up about the existing culture in the new-age bodybuilding and weightlifting world that many young athletes train “too much, too often, and too long,” without focusing on training harder.

According to Yates, the key to building muscle is not to focus on the duration but to focus on bringing intensity to the training. He emphasized the importance of intense training to gain maximum muscle growth. The 6x Mr. Olympia recommended short, intense workouts that can push young lifters to their limits and help in the effective breakdown of muscle.
