As per the post that surfaced on Twitter yesterday, the 76-year-old legend was seen clicking a selfie with the athlete on stage, Dexter Jackson. Marked as a grand minute, it does justice to the true essence of the sport – the witnessing of pure talent and skill. However, receiving such admiration from the legend himself was an honor for the 53-year-old former athlete. Hence, it had to resurface on the legend’s birthday.

“#flashbackfriday to the 2020 Arnold Classic and Arnold Schwarzenegger catching an epic selfie with the one and only Dexter Jackson!” the caption of the update stated, recounting the mesmerizing instance of two bodybuilding legends. Sadly, this event was Jackson’s very last show.

He claimed that the 2020 Mr. Olympia would be his last appearance as a pro bodybuilder on stage, and so it was. The athlete’s 21-year-long career had earned him recognition for the most pro men’s titles, including the 2008 Mr. Olympia. Jackson was a wonder to watch and his shredded body was unmatched in those times. Hence, Arnold wanted to honor Dexter’s legacy with a selfie.

Dexter Jackson is a gem in the bodybuilding sphere

Besides being the only athlete to have won 29 professional titles as an IFBB Pro athlete, Jackson might also be the oldest to have competed at Mr. Olympia. He was 49 years old when he placed fourth at the 2019 show. Naturally, this deemed him eligible for competing at the 2020 event.

The Florida native had aspired to achieve his 30th professional title after breaking the record set by Ronnie Coleman. Unfortunately, his dream did not come true, and he retired after the 2020 Mr. Olympia. On the bright side, he had a career that was eulogized by legends like Schwarzenegger.
