In the early 1970s, Tom ‘Quadfather’ Platz commenced competing in AAU bodybuilding shows and then transitioned to IFBB after making an impression of the ‘Mecca of bodybuilding,’ the Gold Gym. On the other hand, Lee Priest who turned pro by the age of 20 made an unparalleled impression in the world of bodybuilding by winning his foremost bodybuilding competition at the age of 13.

Recently, Lee Priest uploaded an interview on his Instagram account, in which he spoke about how Tom Platz and Priest got captured in a single frame. Thus, the interview commenced with a question, “A lot of people asking about that picture with Tom Platz.” In that picture, Tom Platz was found screaming in the background, though it was not a stage or a photoshoot.

Hence, when Priest was asked about that screaming gesture of Platz, “Was that a stage or a photoshoot or off the cuff?” Lee Priest responds by saying, “Not off the cuff, just training I think.” So it was clear from Priest’s response that the picture was completely candid and it was not a false portrayal.

Priest had a ripped physique at that time and was the IFBB Ironman Pro in 2006. Though he could not make a mark in Mr. Olympia, he was prominent for his ridges and spectacular conditioning. Thus, continuing the interview, Lee Priest said,

“Getting ready for one of the Iron Man shows in California, and Tom was there in the gym training and not sure who took the photo. But I just posed down near the mirror and did that and Tom was there, so Tom just did that.” He further adds by saying, “Silly you know. Like what the F**k you know.”
