Arnold Schwarzenegger knows the positive consequences of a fit life and healthy living especially given his career as a bodybuilder. However, the 76-year-old who had a generational heart disease threat that he found out from his mother started weightlifting in his teens and continues to exercise even today, especially after three heart surgeries that he has already gone through.
The seven-time Mr Olympia, known for his versatile career started a newsletter earlier this year and was on a crusade to help fitness enthusiasts by imparting fitness tips to them. In the latest edition of his newsletter, Arnold’s Pump Club, he spoke about keeping one’s heart healthy through a proper diet.

In the newsletter, the Austrian Oak spoke about an easy and hassle-free way to reinvent one’s diet so that the heart can remain healthy. Since Schwarzenegger has always been in the fitness industry he was never out of shape and understood the significance of healthy and clean eating.
Arnie started by talking about protecting the heart from any disease through simple steps of good food. He said, “Swap and Save (Your Heart) You don’t need to completely reinvent your diet to become healthier. Instead, a few simple swaps could be all it takes to protect your heart from disease.”
The same research followed people for 19 years on average, analyzed the food that they ate, and examined the correlations to diseases. After prolonged research, it was found that replacing one serving of processed food such as meat in hot dogs, with a serving of whole grains nuts or legumes could reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases by up to 36%. However, the research also did not ask for the avoiding of processed meat completely, but for more consumption of whole grains and natural food.
Earlier, the bodybuilding champion had talked about mental elevation that will help one push through despite the challenges they face.

Despite a third heart surgery at 71, the Governator left the hospital to start a speedy recovery and he also took to Arnold’s Pump Club and addressed how to get a mental boost to keep going despite obstacles.

Citing yet another scientific research, the newsletter confirmed that mental elevation can help in many ways by keeping the body healthy. “Experiencing elevation can boost your immune system, reduce stress levels, and foster social connection,” Arnie said. Some of the things suggested by the legend for achieving a mental boost were helping others, listening to inspirational speeches or watching videos, and reading motivational and positive quotes.
