7X Mr. Olympia Champion Spends Quality Time With Family at Famous Brooklyn Pizza Place

Everyone has their favorite foods and cravings for them, and the seven-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath is no different from us. The Sandow Trophy winner recently shared his immense love for pizza and shared quite a few moments from his recent Brooklyn pizza feast. Let’s take a look at how the Olympia winner likes his pizza.

The open-division bodybuilder recently posted a series of images on his Instagram with his wife and family at a place that is well known for making “great pizza.” Not only did Heath feast on his favorite pizza there, but he also tried his hand at cooking.

Gio reveals that he is a bodybuilding fan

Phil Heath went to one of the most famous pizzerias in Brooklyn called “Luigi’s Pizza” to have their world-famous pizza. Heath mentioned that he has been following Gio, who is the co-owner and pizzamaker at Luigi’s, for some time and watching him make pizza for people worldwide. Heath wrote, “Gio not only has the best pizza but an even better heart.” Giovanni “Gio” Lanzo has been making pizza all his life. The store has been in business for more than 50 years and people from all over the world flock to see Gio making his pies and then taste the rich tradition he has upheld for many years. The former Mr. Olympia was also one of them.

The legendary pizzamaker, who is now a well-known celebrity in his own right, took time out to chat about his family’s legacy with the bodybuilder and his wife while he made pies for everyone. While the bodybuilder indulged in a “well-deserved cheat meal,” he said, “I found that Gio is a bodybuilding fan, dating back to the 70s.” The conversation just didn’t end there; Gio had much more to say to the bodybuilder.

The chef “spoke so passionately about his parents, the community they’ve built and the values they instilled of hard work, discipline, intelligence, empathy, compassion, love, and respect!” Heath finds this special, and Gio even gives him an opportunity to get behind the counter, where all the magic happens. The restaurant’s official Instagram posted the reel, and the chef and Heath were behind the counter and made a pizza. Gio started by giving him instructions to flatten out the dough, and surprisingly, the seven-time Mr. Olympia did it well enough. But there was a move in which Heath struggled a bit.

The Gift struggled to extend the dough and extend it the way all the pros do it. But Gio got Heath’s back and taught him how to do that, and after that, they finished the pizza prep with sauce, cheese, and a hint of olive oil. Then Heath placed it in the oven.
