The bond between humans and their four-legged friends, dogs, is considered eternal. It is often dogs that prove loyalty to their human partners. But a recent horrific incident in Australia reflected how far a dog lover can go to protect her pet. Fitness enthusiast and female bodybuilder Isabelle Payne put herself at risk while protecting her 3-year-old miniature Dachshund from the clutches of a Bull Terrier.

Isabelle Payne is engaged to Jacob Thirkettle, and the couple was preparing for their wedding, due in 7 weeks, when the ghastly incident took place. The couple is now raising funds to treat their injured pet.

Narrating the incident on GoFundMe, Thirkettle asked the community to help them with funds to provide good veterinary care for their 3-year-old Lola, a Dachshund. “On the 28th of June 2023 and 7 weeks out from our wedding, one of the worst possible things happened to Lola our 3-year-old miniature dachshund, and Isabelle my fiance,” he wrote in the post.

Payne and Lola went to a dog park to get a walk, unaware of the forthcoming disaster. A dog suddenly attacked Lola. When Payne jumped to free Lola from the grip of an aggressive dog, another dog attacked the pet. In the process, both were severely injured. While Payne sustained injuries and scratches on her knees and palms, Lola was seriously injured.

The dog got its lacerations on the back repaired through surgery. Lola still had to go through many vet sessions for a complete recovery. The couple successfully raised $3,136 through their campaign. It reminds of another incident where a famous bodybuilder tore his pec and bicep muscles while walking his dogs.

The IFBB pro bodybuilder took his dogs for a walk. While in the park, another pet dog started barking at Priest’s dogs. The situation turned violent when the other dog was let off the leash and marched toward the 50-year-old bodybuilder. The Pit Bulls, weighing 230 pounds combined, started yanking as Priest tried to restrain them. Eventually, the massive weight of the dogs and the force of yanking resulted in a 5cm tear to the bodybuilder.
