Chris Bumstead is one of the biggest fitness icons in the new age of bodybuilding. Acquiring the title of the current reigning Mr. Olympia Classic Physique winner, defeating Jay Cutler, he has etched an indelible name for himself in the realms of the sport. Also known as CBum, he had been under the training of the professional athlete Iain Valliere, who also later became his brother-in-law.

Although CBum and Iain Valliere parted their ways from the professional realm to prepare for the 2022 Mr. Olympia champion, they are still pretty tight. On Valliere’s recent announcement, CBum took the opportunity to wish him good luck for his future endeavors.

Chris Bumstead is proud of Iain Valliere’s new journey

Chris Bumstead took to his official Instagram page @cbum a day ago and shared two pictures of him and Iain Valliere together during their days of training together. He announced the retirement of Iain Valliere from the professional bodybuilding world and congratulated him on being brave enough to walk away just at the right time.

In the caption, he wrote, “So proud and excited for you to be starting the next chapter of your life. Every bodybuilder knows as beautiful as competing can be, it really does consume so much of your existence.” He added how sometimes it is important to listen to what your heart wants and walk away from things that drain you completely. It might be a very difficult thing to do, but sometimes, that is what must be done in order to be happy.

He even stated how Iain Valliere always dreamt of winning the TO Pro and wanted to be the best Canadian bodybuilder, and well, there is no doubt that the Pro coach has indeed accomplished his dreams. Chris Bumstead added, “But aside from external achievements I’ve seen you dedicate 110% effort to this goal for 15 years, become a better man along the way, and earn the right to hang it up with your head held high.” He even went on saying how Iain Valliere has helped him become a better athlete and an individual.

How did Iain Valliere impact Chris Bumstead’s journey?

In the open letter that Chris Bumstead wrote to Iain Valliere on his Instagram page, he even added how he had a huge impact on the bodybuilding journey of CBum and other athletes. However, he stated that he was pretty sure that the way Valliere helped him was beyond words. He wrote,You got me on stage for the first time and we took it all the way to 3 Olympia wins. We’ve butt heads along the way, but at the end of the day we’re always brothers first.”

He even added that Valliere’s company has made him not just a better bodybuilder, but an even better human being. He states that the fact that he had the courage to walk out, gives him so much inspiration and it will help him when his time comes. He concluded by writing, “Proud is an understatement and there’s so much to celebrate so I hope you continue to soak it all in.”
