Fouad ‘Hoss’ Abiad was an IFBB pro for over a decade. After making waves in Canadian regional contests, Abaid competed in the Mr. Olmypia contest in 2008. Later, he also won prestigious?bodybuilding?shows like the IFBB Europa Supershow and the IFBB Vancouver Pro and placed second at the 2015 Tampa Pro. However,?battling with severe kidney issues?throughout his career, the bodybuilder retired from competition after 2017. Since then, Abiad has made serious lifestyle changes and sought treatment.

Earlier, the bodybuilding icon appeared on The Menace Podcast with Milos Sarcev and Dennis James. While speaking with the host, the former IFBB pro revealed what he has changed. He also gave a crucial update on the stem cell treatment he is undergoing.

During the podcast, the bodybuilder revealed that Stem Cell therapy has worked for him. While discussing the topic, Abiad said he knows people who suffer from chronic kidney disease and those who suffer from acute kidney disease. However, in both cases, standard medical treatment focuses on preventing further damage and stabilizing the Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR).

However, Abiad thought he could do better and improve his kidneys.?“Your nephrologist generally will just say, look, the best outcome we can have is it stays at 55 (GFR),”?said the 44-year-old.?“I’ve sat and grilled my nephrologist,”?added Hoss. The bodybuilder revealed he grilled his doctor about potentially making things better by changing his lifestyle and diet.

While his doctor didn’t sound optimistic, Abiad made the changes anyway. The former IFBB pro stopped taking PEDs, reduced his protein intake significantly, and made other minor changes. However, it wasn’t until he met?Ronnie Coleman?and Big Ramy’s stem cell therapy doctor that he made significant progress. Abiad told the host about the most recent bloodwork results.
