“Sad Day in Our Brotherhood”: 59-YO Veteran Bodybuilder Devastated After Saddening Death of an ‘Iron Brother’ 2 Years Younger Than Him

Veteran Bodybuilding pro and Mr. Universe winner Shaun Dinosaur Davis has passed away at 57. Hailing from Long Eaton, a town in Derbyshire’s Erewash district, he was a hero for his hometown and had a huge fan following despite his retirement due to kidney transplant issues. The bodybuilder’s dear friend Kuldeep Bhardwaj announced the tragic demise on social media on Dec 1.

The cause of death is still unknown but the bodybuilding pro had a long history of suffering from kidney issues that started from his competitive days. He required a kidney transplant in 2009 and this also included dialysis which is a very painful process. Unfortunately, kidney failure forced him to retire. Recently Serbian pro bodybuilder Milos Sarcev shared his condolences on Instagram.

Milos Sarcev shares his sadness over Shaun’s demise

In an Instagram post, the IFBB pro and bodybuilder just two years older than Davis shared his condolences for his Iron Brother. He wrote, “Another sad day in our Brotherhood of Iron Community. Shaun Davis, IFBB Pro from UK has passed away at the age of 57.”

Sarcev met Shaun in 1996 while touring England and they became instant friends. Sarcev also narrated that Mr. Europe, the winner was warm-hearted and very friendly. Sarcev wrote, “He was competing at the NABBA Universe that year, won the Pro show ( beating Dennis James, Eddie Elwood, Joe De Angelis…) but Sonny and I convinced him that IFBB is the way to go… and he won British Championships that year and turned pro. The following year – he competed in 5 shows I was in (1997) we hung out together and always had fun. Many great memories 🙏🏻❤️. I am truly saddened to know he is gone 😔. Sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.”

After going into IFBB he made a lasting name for himself and made his country proud. Davis enjoyed a successful career and also became an advocate for organ donation in his later years. Along with the bodybuilding veterans, fans were also devastated to hear about the loss.

The bodybuilding community mourns the loss of Dinosaur Davis

The fitness fans and followers shared their love and affection for the late bodybuilder in a post by Generation Iron. The fans said goodbye to his loss and this was another blow for the bodybuilding community this year. Followers expressed their condolences and wrote, “So sad Rest In Peace,” another fan wrote “May the soul rest in peace,” 

One fan also expressed their sorrow about how Davis was facing chronic kidney ailments for half of his life. This year many bodybuilders have passed away and Shaun Davis is the latest veteran to leave the bodybuilding world in sorrow with his untimely demise.
