However, what many fail to realize is that most successful bodybuilders are generally those who are genetically gifted and have an amazing physique even before joining the dark side. A prime example of this is 8X Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman. Lifting since the age of 12 years old, Coleman admits that he had an amazing frame by the time he reached high school and was a genetic freak.

He was also one of the biggest forces responsible for the evolution of modern bodybuilding as he drove the sport towards a mass monster era. He thanks his mother for the great muscle-building genetics as he became insanely ripped and big as soon as he started lifting weights. Well, in all fairness, he was big enough already to start with, as he revealed in a recent podcast on ‘The Iced Coffee Hour’.

Coleman revealed during the podcast that he was very muscular according to his age, considering he did not even work out. However, his aesthetic frame led to people believing that he is into fitness. That is when Coleman decided to actually take up lifting and see how it goes. Coleman stated, “Growing up in a small town, everywhere I went, people always asked me if I worked out when I was about 10 years old, and this went on for a very long time. By the time I got like 12, I’m like…” wonder what I’ll look like if I really started working out.”
Continuing further, Coleman pointed out, “Everywhere i went people asked me “Do you workout, you’re kind of big, do you workout, you’re kind of big.” I’m like, “No, I don’t workout, I’m just big.”
