After stunning the bodybuilding community with his transformation at 50, former Mr. Olympia is doing it again. Last year, Jay Cutler competed in the Fit-for-50 challenge and got as close as he could, to his Olympia-winning physique. With only three months left until his birthday, Cutler has embarked on his transformation and shown fans a special treadmill.
The 50-year-old had more than one treadmill and other cardio equipment, like the Stairmaster. However, in the latest episode of Jaywalking, the bodybuilding icon showed the treadmill he bought and fell in love with. Cutler showed fans the famous Woodway treadmill in his gym. However, with Woodway’s treadmills costing up to $18,000, it was not ordinary gym equipment.
“So I’m on the Rolls-Royce of treadmills right here. This is, this is called the Woodway… so super soft,” said Jay Cutler. The four-time Mr. Olympia said that he learned about Woodway and was so impressed he ordered one. The bodybuilder showed that he had set the Woodway to track mode and the large display even showed the image of an Olympic running track.

According to GQ, a flagship Woodway decked out with all the options costs four times that of other “extremely high-end,” treadmills. The company first attracted endurance athletes with its build quality, reliability, and design. However, they exploded in popularity thanks to social media. However, Jay Cutler is a big fan of how soft Woodway feels to walk on.
“Guys, I’m going to focus on 20 minutes,” Cutler said in the video. The 50-year-old explained that currently, he walks a total of 40 minutes on the treadmill, divided into two, 20-minute sessions. The Comeback Kid said that many people would think that 40 minutes of cardio may not be enough, but he has a plan.
How Jay Cutler is doing things differently this year
The three-time Arnold Classic winner didn’t stop working out despite retiring from competitive bodybuilding. Cutler gained muscle and then got shredded, like a traditional bodybuilding prep for the Fit-for-50 challenge. He even ate as if he was preparing for the Olympia. However, after getting shredded, he maintained most of his muscle mass and leanness.

So this time, he doesn’t need to add too much muscle or lose as much body fat. Instead, Jay Cutler wants to fine-tune his physique. “I’m already pretty lean… What I’m trying to do is get more fullness,” said the bodybuilding legend. The Comeback Kid is taking cardio lightly because he wants to retain and improve muscle fullness for the next three months.
Hence, while the average person may find the Rolls-Royce treadmills to be overkill, they were designed to meet the needs of incredible athletes like Jay Cutler. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the bodybuilding icon owns one.
