Milos Sarcev competed with some of the best bodybuilders of his era in the 90s. Sarcev had a uniquely aesthetic build at a time when bodybuilding became saturated with mass monsters, pushing size and conditioning. The Serbian bodybuilding legend also competed with another unique bodybuilder who took the conditioning aspect of the mass monster era to the extreme.

The bodybuilding coach took to social media to appreciate Andreas Munzer, a bodybuilder who hailed from Arnold Scwarzeneger’s homeland Austria. Munzer achieved conditioning unlike any other bodybuilder. In fact, he was so shredded that he earned fans called Munzer the man without skin. However, Munzer paid with his life for his pursuit to become the leanest bodybuilder ever.

Milos Sarcev posted a photograph of the late bodybuilder hitting a most muscular pose. The image showcased how Munzer eliminated nearly all his body fat. “Once again – let’s appreciate this kind of mind-blowing conditioning of Andreas Munzer (RIP),” wrote Sarcev. Besides Sarcev, Samson Dauda’s former coach also posted some close-up photographs of Munzer.

While Jay Cutler became famous for his fathered quads, you could argue that Munzer had even better quad conditioning than the four-time Mr. Olympia. Unfortunately, the bodybuilder paid no need to his health and put his life on the line. The promising competitor met his untimely demise in 1996.

Munzer’s death sent shockwaves through the bodybuilding world as the Germany-based bodybuilder died at the age of 31 and was among the first young bodybuilders to suddenly pass away during their prime. Though bodybuilding icons have met their untimely death since Munzer, his death marked a turning point as details started to emerge.

The controversy surrounding Munzer’s death

German magazine Der Spiegel made the 31-year-old bodybuilder’s passing the cover story for the month. Autopsy details pinned Munzer’s passing on ste***ds. While speaking about the negative effects of PEDs might be common today, it wasn’t so in the 90s.

Munzer’s autopsy report revealed that the bodybuilder died due to multiple organ failure. His organs were in dire shape. When doctors decided to operate on Munzer to relieve his stomach pain, the bodybuilder’s liver failed. He had, in fact, developed massive tumors on his liver. Munzer’s heart was also double the size of an average person.

The doctors found virtually no subcutaneous fat inside the Arnold Classic competitor’s body, adding that the excessive use of PEDs and diuretics to get shredded may have contributed heavily to the Austrian’s demise. It’s safe to say that Munzer’s conditioning came with a price, and the aftermath of his death shook the bodybuilding world to its core.
