Intermittent fasting, and normally fasting is a very common thing in the bodybuilding world. However, 65-year-old Lesley Maxwell does not believe in fasting and has one of the most shredded physiques in the bodybuilding world. The fitness model and coach believes that the nutrients inside the food help reach fitness goals, way faster than skipping meals and intermittent fasting.

Leslie Maxwell is warning women not to fast

She recently uploaded an Instagram post where she decided to talk about why women should not fast. Maxwell started the explanation by saying, “Women are susceptible to losing muscle density every year. We are to become soft and fat or thin and frail.”

She said that women experienced something called sarcopenia which makes women lose muscle mass every year. Rather than fasting, she suggested having a protein-rich diet and gave her an example where she eats five times a day and gets a little hit of protein on every meal.
“Don’t be a victim to something like Sarcopenia where you are losing that muscle mass every year,” is what she advised. She also explained that muscle is the tissue of youth, and it needs to be fed properly and nurtured.

She has previously advocated for not fasting and having proper meals every day and gave a routine so that people can get a heads up on what to do.

Lesley Maxwell previously took to her Instagram and shared a picture of her shredded figure after a workout session. The fitness model also gave an insight into her mantra of gaining more energy. She believes that a workout is only effective when you take a good amount of nutrients and food inside your system so that it gives you the energy to have the best workout.
She wrote in the caption, “Now it’s my turn to train after my PT sessions. I find training in the evening fine as long as I eat before training. It’s like that all day for me as I eat every couple of hours.”

She also pointed out how food helps her in her workouts by maintaining her blood sugar levels and giving her the proper amount of energy that she needs to exercise with heavy equipment. Lesley Maxwell eats scrumptious meals, full of protein and the proper number of calories so that her body gets the fuel that it needs to gain muscles after exercise.
