Arnold Schwarzenegger and swapping water for diet soda

Fitness enthusiasts are often lost consuming content online. But Schwarzenegger took the initiative to provide research-backed studies through his Arnold’s Pump Club podcast and newsletter to help fitness enthusiasts learn sustainable ways to keep their wellness game going. Now, Arnie busts the myth surrounding diet soda.

Many weight loss advocates ask people to avoid diet soda, but Schwarzenegger doesn’t resonate with them. The newsletter shared a research study that suggests diet soda may help in weight loss. “Have you ever wondered what would happen if you swapped a couple of glasses of water for diet soda? Scientists did, and the results would surprise most people,” Arnie revealed.

According to a new study, diet soda drinkers lost equal pounds in 12 weeks as water drinkers, given they followed the same weight loss program. However, Schwarzenegger noted, “This doesn’t mean diet soda is better than water.” It adds to the sustainability of the weight loss program by making it easier to follow a healthy eating routine. Earlier, the 76-year-old shared a similar donut experiment.

Donuts will be next on the list to be crossed while on a weight loss checklist, but if you have subscribed to Arnold’s Pump Club, you beg to differ. In one of the editions, Schwarzenegger promoted donuts for weight loss, and once again it adds to the sustainability of a weight loss routine.
