Even though many choose the routine of spending hours in the gym to attain desired fitness goals, Mentzer has always prioritized intense workouts with sufficient time for recovery. This is why renowned American neuroscientist, Dr. Andrew Huberman firmly believes and admires him. Recently, the doctor talked about his workout routine. 

Dr. Andrew Huberman says no to deadlifts!

In a video uploaded by Huberman Diaries Instagram account, the doctor revealed his workout routine. In the video, he said that he did not prefer squatting and deadlifting like the majority of people do to gain a good amount of muscle and mass. He said,I’ve been able to achieve the strength and hypertrophy goals that I’ve been seeking. 

 

Continuing further, he revealed the exercises with the help of which, he attained his strength and all the desired fitness goals, “Leg extensions and hack squats for hamstrings.” Moreover, he suggested doing “leg curl and glute ham raises for calves” along with standing and seated calf raises. He talked about leg-strengthening exercises to target the glutes and hamstring.

He emphasized the fact that one should aim to target every muscle group of the body. To target every muscle group, he suggested, “try and find an exercise in which you get that muscle into a weighted stretch position.”

Andrew Huberman is a neuroscientist but his physique is nothing short of a bodybuilding champion. He might be among those who do not always rely on gym training but focus on outdoor physical activities. Recently, he lifted a massive rock with the assistance of his team.

In the video, he started his journey with his team in a car and went near a mountain. After this, they started walking up with rocks that weighed 72 pounds each. During the time, they started taking rocks out from the car and the doctor gave details about the weight of the rocks by saying, “So they’re all 72 lbs.”

Afterward, they set on a journey with the rock in their hands and walked up to one and a half miles. One of his crew members highlighted the fact that this exercise is often considered difficult by most but it is actually not that hard, giving a reality check to the fitness world.
