He began by announcing that he hates pre-workout dry scooping. “You know what really hurts my nerves? I hate people that dry-scoop their pre-workout. Then he further added that the reason pre-workouts are prepared with water is because the ingredients require water for activation. According to the bodybuilder, blending pre-workouts with water will only bring out the full effect. “You do realize, a lot of the ingredients within your pre-workout, you need to mix it with water to shake it up, blend it with water for it to like really take the full effect you know. And also do you really think it looks cool?”

But why exactly is it so harmful to engage in pre-workout dry scooping? Let us find out.

The demerits of dry scooping

According to Hackensack Meridian Health, while dry-scooping, people might inhale the powder which can subsequently lead to breathing problems. They also noted, “If the powder makes its way to the lungs, they may develop inflammation or an infection.” Moreover, in an attempt to swallow the powder, people might cough it up in a way that creates discomfort in the food pipe, and it might even go into one’s windpipe.

Moreover, the high amount of caffeine present in the pre-workouts makes it extremely dangerous to swallow it all at once, as it would lead to heart palpitation and several other heart-related issues. It is advised to take the pre-workout with water to also keep this caffeine amount in check.
