Dorian Yates is the man who changed the face of bodybuilding with his mass monster era. Yates ushered in HIT training and the era of mammoth bodybuilders with his dedication and discipline. The six-time Mr Olympia is the first and only English bodybuilder to win this title and has always been serious about his career and respected the art of bodybuilding.

In a recent YouTube short video, his dedication was seen even when he recalled doing photoshoots. Yates was particular about his philosophy and did not get swayed by other glittery prospects.

The short video showed him speaking about a photoshoot he did with British photographer Chris Lund. His first photo shoot was at the Gold’s Gym and one thing he opposed was wearing sunglasses to look ‘cool’.

He said, “They used to spray the guys with water bottles, so it looks like they’re sweating and they’d hold these weights and they pose and everything.” So the ‘sweat’ was make believe and not real, which Yates did not approve of.

He respected his craft and wanted to be as authentic in the shoot as possible so he said, “The Americans never really understood me why I’m not that guy that’s always wanted attention, why I’m not telling everyone how great I am, and all the time and all this stuff.” Many admired the respect that Yates showed the sport and commented about the same in the YouTube video.
