Sylvester Stallone etched his name in the history of Hollywood with his Rocky and Rambo series. He is known to compete with the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger in the action genre. Their movies marked the era of action with larger-than-life action sequences. However, the blemish on his career came in 2007 when he was charged with importing vials of banned human growth hormone in Australia, per The Guardian.

Now a bodybuilder, and famous fitness influencer, commented on Sylvester Stallone’s PED use in a recent video. Derek shared his thoughts on the 76-year-old action hero’s fitness secret.

The interviewer asked Derek, “What do you think he’s on? I mean, I know he’s on HGH, but at his age, I mean, he’s so good. It doesn’t look like he aged that much.” To which the bodybuilder replied, “So, obviously… I see human growth hormone is definitely in the equation.” 

He further elaborated his thoughts saying, “But I would imagine at his age, he’s not pushing androgens very hard.” He reasoned out his assumption by adding, “He’s probably trying to not have a heart attack. That would be one of the primary goals, as opposed to just solely cosmetic look and performance.

He, however, believes the actor would have done some “exotic and insane stuff” while shooting rigorously for his larger-than-life roles. He also trained hard for his movies. During one such training session, he contested with Franco Columbo, the bodybuilding friend of Arnold Schwarzenegger which resulted in a severe injury.

In an interview, the action star revealed his competition with Columbo and said, “Well a long time ago, I was training with Franco Columbo, who was Mr. Universe, for Rocky II. We got into this bench pressing competition and I tore my entire pec off.”

So he had to get 60 stitches for the wound. Initially, it wasn’t much of a task to hide the scar but after a decade, the veins started projecting as the doctors carried out the surgery in a twisted way. So to hide the scar, he got himself tattooed.
