The CEO of Evogen Nutrition posted a ‘shorts’ video on their YouTube channel about fitness mistakes. In the video, Rambod can be heard saying, One thing a lot of you guys do at home that are very, very, very incorrect is that you end up speeding up at the very end and doing shitty sloppy reps.”

The stern coach is reprimanding bodybuilders for a poor finish to their exercise set. Every set should be a powerful finish. He further adds, “What you wanna do is you wanna make sure that you have control through the positive as well as the negative. What you wanna do, especially when you are not going super heavy, is create a tempo”.

He goes on to explain what a tempo set is. Tempo training refers to the speed at which a particular set is being performed, which is as important as weights, form, and number of sets performed. The champion maker explains further, saying, So a tempo set is when you are doing the same amount of time on the way up as you are on the way down. So two to three seconds, two to three seconds.”

Advocating for an exercise set that brings the body and mind in sync, the legendary coach shares an important bit of wisdom saying, “There are different types of reps, but if you want to get that mind and muscle connection, don’t forget to do these tempo sets.” Rambod’s training method is quite successful, evident from the results he delivers year after year.
