The video points out the fact that in this digital age, you must understand how to leverage social media. He said, “A lot of the times when you’re marketable, doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re a winner on stage”.

He then goes on to add that having a good social media presence is indeed a very important factor in this day. It helps you gain a good fanbase. However, when asked about the primary source of income, Martinez says, “As long as you’re winning shows, that’s your main money”.

Victor Martinez is also asked about the right way to build a career in Bodybuilding. To this, he says that the best way is to start working out, and when you know you can do your first show. There’s no other shortcut or mantra around it. Victor Martinez himself had a delayed victory because of his lifestyle choices. And thus wants the audience to learn from his mistakes. He once revealed his biggest regret in his entire bodybuilding career.

Victor Martinez once revealed that he used to spend a lot of his time at the gym with the wrong people. Even his coaches provided him with bad advice and his friends would lure him into unhealthy temptations. Talking about this incident, he highlighted that your limits and expectations are highly influenced by the people you hang out with.

He himself realized that the amount of time he was putting in was simply not reciprocated and that he was taking advice from the wrong people. He stated that he could have risen to fame earlier, had he figured out the right place to put his energy in. However, better late than never. He got out of the darkness and indeed did emerge as a star.
