During his last two competitions in 1996, Andreas felt pain in his muscles and stomach but just ignored it. Several months later, the pain became unbearable, resulting in hospitalization. The bodybuilder had internal bleeding and his organs were shutting down. Unfortunately, two days after being hospitalized, he passed away. The official cause of Andreas? death was??dystrophic multiple organ failure?.
His autopsy revealed that he had extremely high muscle mass with very little body fat. His liver had several tumors which destroyed it. It was revealed that the drugs and diuretics M?nzer consumed to help with his physique were also responsible for his body shutting down.
