However, the actor’s recent feat on Instagram irked the community.?

A recent video surfaced on the platform that featured Wahlberg performing the behind-the-neck shoulder press, a highly controversial exercise in the community. This urged the fans to question the celebrity?s workout and share critical insights under the post. This turn of events came days after bodybuilding icon, Mike O?Hearn was slammed for siding with the same old-school workout.?

As per the video, the 52-year-old actor was seen performing a smooth behind-the-neck exercise while flaunting his shredded build. Soon after the completion of his set, he promoted a drink from his partnered brand, Flecha Azul. Hailing it as the Drink of the Summer in the video, Wahlberg added in his caption, ?Stay lean off the Lino.?

Thus, skipping past the actor?s intent to promote his drink, fans took a dig at his workout. The fans? insights ranged from concerns to warnings of injury. Only last month, four-time Mr. Universe, Mike O?Hearn underwent a similar scenario when he was criticized for influencing the workout to his fans.?

However, the bodybuilder eventually defended himself backed by claims on its right form and technique. He asserted that the workout is not risky rather, people have been doing it wrong, thus leading to injuries. Moreover, he pointed out that exercise has been a bodybuilding basic since the early 80s and its safety and efficiency are proven by research. Regardless, the community seems to have a collective point of view on the matter.?

Within a few hours, the video amassed over 1.8 million views and a plethora of insights. One of the comments noted, ?It is not correct for the neck? whereas another suggested a better form to the fitness freak. ?it is better to hold the bar in front of you, it injures the shoulder joint behind the head,? the comment read.?

Similarly, a user stated, ?Don’t press behind the neck, it’s terrible for your joints.? Another user deeming the workout as ?pointless? wrote, ?pointless and just asking for an injury.? A third comment warned Wahlberg to keep the bar in front of his shoulders, as his form was a ?recipe for disaster.??
