Lifting weights is not everyone’s cup of tea. It is normal for fitness influencers and bodybuilding champions to deadlift or bench press enormous weights, but the fitness challenges often expose regular people to unimaginable tasks. While some succeed in them like a pro, others fail miserably.

A resurfaced Instagram video drew fans’ reactions as the person undertaking a fitness challenge is none other than a high school principal. Not just his students who witnessed his strength live, but the netizens who watched his clip online also were stunned by his feat. They reacted to the video in the comments section.

Alexander Mercieca is a Freshman Academy Principal at Grissom High School. Mercieca’s old video, a teacher back then, while deadlifting a massive 585 lbs, was recently shared by an Instagram page, ‘Gym Humor’. The post was captioned, “Teaching the students a thing about lifting.” However, Mercieca isn’t just any regular man, as he is a Certified CrossFit Trainer. Fans reacted to the video and commented their thoughts on it.

 “If you can pick this up, you get an ‘A,” commented a fan. “The dad strength displayed is unreal,” wrote another stunned follower. “He can absolutely do more,” a hopeful user mentioned.

Impressive, but can he teach,” commented a fan in doubt. “Maybe he could teach them to set the bar back down instead of dropping it,” wrote another user who found the principal’s behavior of dropping the weights rude. Fitness challenges are a common trend on social media. Earlier, YouTuber Brandon Williams shared a video of a man acing some heavy-lifting stunts.

 John lifts weights to win 100$

 In a video shared by Brandon William on his YouTube channel, John was seen taking up a boulder-lifting challenge to win $100. Though he lifted weights 40 years ago, the elderly man didn’t lose his strength with time.

He lifted and dumped three huge boulders of 115 lbs, 145 lbs, and 250 lbs over the bar. He lifted the first two weights without much difficulty but struggled with 250 lbs. However, he managed to win the task with his calm and composed attitude.

Fitness challenges often help people realize their strengths and shortcomings so that they can improve them with some more training. Alexander Mercieca and John are examples of people going beyond their limits and inspiring others to do so.
