Earlier today the USC Schwarzenegger Institute’s Instagram page shared a snippet from the 75-year-old’s speech at this year’s Australian World Summit. “They always were talking about climate change. But no one knew what the hel* is climate change. So they went right over people’s heads,” said Arnie during his speech.
“They should have also talked about pollution,” added the former Governor. According to Schwarzenegger, more awareness needs to be raised about pollution. He also pointed out how the global killer takes “7 million” lives “a year.” Every year, people die “choking on air poisoned by fossil fuel,” but not enough is getting done to reduce it.

“You need to talk about what causes climate change, which is pollution. Pollution is the evil,” said the Hollywood icon. Hence, Arnie is using his global platform to raise the alarm against it. “We have to stay on top of this. People are dying,” said the 75-year-old. He also suggested a way to defeat pollution.
“I call on every government around the world to clear the path for green projects, start building and terminate pollution,” Schwarzenegger voiced during his speech. However, the former Mr. Universe is not just a man of words but also a man of action.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is doing his part
Arnold Schwarzenegger initiated climate action and steps to reduce pollution over a decade ago. As Governor of California, the Terminator actor signed the Executive Order S-3-05 in 2005. The executive order established specific goals aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the state of California.
The executive order, also known as the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, was a watershed moment as it was the first initiative of its kind in America. Besides the 2006 act, Schwarzenegger is also a proponent of developing renewable energy. The SCI assists those looking to develop clean energy.
