The 29-year-old star, irked by his father’s reaction, tried to explain to him what the project was about. Thus, he urged Arnie to watch an episode of the series to understand it. Months after, the latest trailer of Patrick’s spin-off series is now here. The official teaser of Gen V was released on Monday and was shared on Amazon Prime Video’s YouTube channel.
The trailer gave a deeper glimpse of the storyline, occasionally displaying Patrick as the superhero character, along with his co-actors. Ready to debut on September 29th, Gen V delves into the hilarious and grisly lives of students at Godolkin University, the superheroes-only school. The superhero drama The Boys portrays a character called Homelander, which is beloved by the fan community. Thus, before the making of the series, Patrick was contacted by the producers to play the part of Homelander. However, he was not informed about the role and had little idea of what he was signing up for.
Eventually, the show cast New Zealand actor Anthony Starr for the role. “They were just like ‘It’s about this. This is the character. This is what’s going to happen,” the junior Schwarzenegger once shared in an interview. Despite the confusion, Patrick was determined to work with the franchise and is now starring in the spin-off series.
