Bodybuilder turned Hollywood star, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s success in the varying disciplines has also inspired his kids to follow in his footsteps. While Joseph Baena has always been regarded in great resemblance to his father, Arnie’s eldest son, Patrick has challenged the view. The actor, who is also a fitness model and entrepreneur, was working on a project that once made his father concerned. 

Gen V, a spin-off of the hit series, The Boys, stars Patrick as a college-going superhero, Golden Boy in the show. The latest trailer dropped on Monday that created much intrigue among fans, given the popularity of the previous seasons of The Boys franchise. However, when Patrick once broke the news to Arnie, the athlete reacted with a bold statement.

The 75-year-old legend was quite unaware of the 2019 fiction series, despite its rising popularity. Thus, when he found out that his son was working on a project which was the spin-off of the series, Arnie was taken aback. Hence, he said, “What the f*** are you filming?” as narrated by Patrick. 

The 29-year-old star, irked by his father’s reaction, tried to explain to him what the project was about. Thus, he urged Arnie to watch an episode of the series to understand it. Months after, the latest trailer of Patrick’s spin-off series is now here. The official teaser of Gen V was released on Monday and was shared on Amazon Prime Video’s YouTube channel.

The trailer gave a deeper glimpse of the storyline, occasionally displaying Patrick as the superhero character, along with his co-actors. Ready to debut on September 29th, Gen V delves into the hilarious and grisly lives of students at Godolkin University, the superheroes-only school. It might be interesting to know how the former athlete shall react to the instance now. Although how did Patrick even get involved with The Boys franchise?

The superhero drama The Boys portrays a character called Homelander, which is beloved by the fan community. Thus, before the making of the series, Patrick was contacted by the producers to play the part of Homelander. However, he was not informed about the role and had little idea of what he was signing up for. 

Eventually, the show cast New Zealand actor Anthony Starr for the role. “They were just like ‘It’s about this. This is the character. This is what’s going to happen,” the junior Schwarzenegger once shared in an interview. Despite the confusion, Patrick was determined to work with the franchise and is now starring in the spin-off series.
