Health is wealth, goes the saying. But one realizes the essence of this proverb very late in life! Being fit requires a lot of discipline, making it hard for people who cannot forgo unhealthy habits. But the awareness of a healthy lifestyle is building up in the current generation who are inclined to take consistent steps to be fit and flexible in life. Bodybuilding is one arena that mostly caters to fitness, and one must adhere to a diet and exercise regime to sport a ripped figure. And Instagram is rife with examples reflecting that age is just a number to build muscles.

Recently a young man posted a video of him on his Instagram account, where he is seen flexing his muscles in a bathroom mirror, and later an old man enters and flexes beside him.

In the Instagram video, uploaded on the ‘boaksfit’ handle on April 3rd, Blake Oaks, in a black gym costume, was seen flexing muscles in the bathroom when an old man walks in interrupting his posing session. The aged gentleman says, “Oops sorry, ” before heading into the restroom for grooming his hair.

The elderly come out after a while and encourages Oaks to flaunt his biceps with him. “Met this jacked older gentleman in the bathroom after my lift. While I was taking a video he came to comb his hair. After combing his hair he asked to do a double bi-flex in the mirror,” writes Oaks, who calls himself a video creator, in his Instagram post.

And in the conversation between them, Oaks realizes the man’s age to be 86, which surprises the young lad, who exclaims, “ You look good! You look awesome! ” The 22-year-old was inspired by the old man and further wrote in the caption, “He out angled tf outta me….. This gentleman is a great example to take care of your body throughout your life. I hope to look like him when I am his age.”

Age is just a number when it comes to bodybuilding

Many fitness enthusiasts pursue bodybuilding in their later years of life. But Jim Arrington tops the list with a 2018 Guinness book record of being the world’s oldest bodybuilder as a 90-year-old. And he attributes his healthy aging to the sport he pursued.

Having ventured into the sport at the young age of 14 years after perusal of ‘Moulding a Mighty Chest’. “Training feels great. I like to be strong,” says the oldest bodybuilder who still actively trains daily. Such are the benefits of pursuing bodybuilding to reach fitness goals.
