In the video, the 6-time Mr. Olympia winner opens up about his discomfort with being on stage and being in the public eye. He says, ?I?m almost like the opposite of a typical bodybuilder. I don?t like attention. I don?t like people looking at me.? Since Yates disliked people looking at him, he also did not like giving speeches on stage and said, ?I don?t like being on stage giving speeches. I don?t even like being on stage. I had to do that to show what I had done in the gym.”

Yates also further elaborated that most people who come into bodybuilding are extroverts. They have the mentality which goes, ?Hey look at me!? but ?The Shadow? is an introvert. Yates also gave a profound idea that, in bodybuilding, there is no team. If someone loses, it’s on them and if they win, that is also on their determination. The fact that it is self-dependent on his effort is what appealed to Yates.??

Bodybuilder who found his calling in prison invented the HIT fitness

Dorian Yates found his passion for bodybuilding when he went to prison for 6 months. After coming into the sport, he was helped by Mike Mentzer and found the HIT method of training.

Mentzer mentored Yates in a resurfaced video and divulged a secret to the training. ?When training with high intensity, I recommend you do 1 or 2 warm-up sets per exercise,? Yates wrote in his post. The warmup is necessary for all workouts, but for HIT, it is crucial to avoid any injury.
