The review by the fan also praised Schwarzenegger’s performance as John Matrix, a former commander on a mission to rescue his kidnapped daughter.

The fan also acknowledged the fact that the Austrian Oak never really got enough credit as an amazing actor, but he was one of the very few actors who found a proper balance between being humorous and being serious. The post also quoted a line from the movie, “I eat Green Berets for breakfast, and right now I’m VERY hungry!” adding that such lines were “worth the price of admission alone.”

Several fans of Schwarzenegger noted the balance between hilarious scenes and action sequences in the movie. Several of the fans left comments like, “One of the most quotable films ever… Silly and over the top, great fun.” and, “Doesn’t take itself too seriously” is the understatement of the year.”

One fan, focusing on the amount of humor showcased, compared it to a cartoon and wrote, “This movie is a live-action cartoon, and I say that with great affection.” Most of the comments signify the fact that the movie went on to become what Arnie himself wanted. Earlier, on Reddit, the seven-time Mr. Olympia winner had revealed how he wanted the movie to be as over the top as possible and even pushed the director and producer to add such scenes.

A user further emphasized how Arnie succeeded in this mission, by saying that it was a movie that helped them wind down from stress. They penned, “Watching it is a good way to let off some steam.” Another fan gave a paradoxical answer when they said, “This movie was so awful it was wonderful.”

Despite being an action film with a serious plot, the slapstick comedy was what made Commando stay alive in the minds of people minds. “Remember when I said I’d kill you last?” “Yeah! Yeah you did!” “I lied” a fan decided to quote their favourite line.
