One of the fittest and strongest Hollywood actors to ever exist in Hollywood is none other than Sylvester Stallone. He has been lifting and has been into fitness for decades, starting during his teenage years. Over the years, he built a physique so fine that it motivated countless individuals to take up bodybuilding. However, in a 2008 episode of a talk show hosted by Jonathan Ross, Stallone admitted that even stars like him who have superhero built are only humans.

Stallone confessed that there are days when he wants to skip the training. However, due to the time constraints that actors have for a transformation, he has to wake up every day and go to the gym no matter what.

Over the years, thanks to his roles in movies like Rambo and Expendables, Stallone made sure to make a name for himself in the realm of action movies. Apart from bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger being his only rival back in the day, Stallone’s ripped physique motivated many to get a gym membership. While he is often thought of as a machine, he revealed in 2008 on an episode of ‘Friday Night With Jonathan Ross’ that there are days when even he wants to slack off.

It is part of an actor’s job to transform his physique for the role if required. Often, the stars don’t have a lot of time for this. They are given a fixed period of time to transform their physiques according to their roles. For those specific weeks, they have to ensure regular training and a strict diet. However, Stallone explained that he has been into fitness as well as action movies for so long now that he has a habit of waking up and going to the gym no matter what. “I think it’s kind of an occupational hazard now, it’s pretty much what I do, and it’s become a habit,” Stallone said.

Stallone’s dedication and determination towards fitness and bodybuilding were astounding. In order to get in shape for the role of ‘Rocky,’ Stallone went to extremely dangerous levels, as his fat percentage dropped as low as 2.9 percent.

In order to get in shape, Stallone worked like a professional bodybuilder instead of an actor. In order to get extremely muscular, he even took the help of a renowned bodybuilding legend and a close friend of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Former Mr. Olympia Franco Columbu guided Stallone to a perfectly ripped physique.

According to Stallone, he reduced his body fat levels to 2.9 percent for ‘Rocky’, which is extremely unsafe for one’s health. He said, “At the time, my body fat got down to 2.9, which is a really dangerous level. I may have looked pretty good on the outside, but inside it was [a] very dangerous thing to do.”
