Rich Piana was a sensational bodybuilder well-known for his 23.5 inches arms and a herculean size. The social media icon built a community of fans who appreciated his unflinching honesty and no-holds-barred attitude. Piana also courted controversy for his candid discussions on steroid use. Shockingly, Piana passed away six years ago, in 2017, raising questions about his substance use. However, his words echo through social media even now.

In a resurfaced video, the bodybuilding hulk weighing close to 290 lbs opened up about a practice that artificially increases muscle size, making it look abnormally big. He highlighted the ill effects, imploring others to think before going down the arduous path.

An archived video posted by AEG Fitness shows Rich Piana telling a cautionary tale. He said, “You don’t realize the true muscle in there is dying and you’re losing that muscle and it’ll never come back once those muscle cells die. It’s over.” Furthermore, Piana, who could never become a pro, explained that the muscles will never grow back. Repeatedly putting oil in your biceps” makes the area weak. “The world of bodybuilding would be a better world if Synthol never existed,” added the late actor. 

Bodybuilding is a sport that involves a physical display of muscularity and symmetry. To emerge on top of the sport, the practitioners sometimes go overboard. They use unnatural ways to achieve mass and density, with terrible repercussions. Rich Piana also suffered a similar fate. A terrible bicep tear resulted in Piana using steroids, which drastically affected his life and career.

A bicep tear became a cause of worry for Piana

Fitness coach and friend of the late bodybuilder Amon Adibi recently posted a TikTok update answering a fan’s query on Paina’s use of “oil.” A subscriber asked, “Did Rich have implants, or was he injecting oil?” He had a very straightforward answer to the question. Adibi reminded people of the legacy of Paina and how he was committed to the sport. He stated, “People don’t know Rich was a big legit bodybuilder before all the tattoos and the pumped-up muscles with oil. He was a pretty decent bodybuilder.”

However, things took a turn when Rich suffered an injuryAs he got older, he started doing, uh, he tore a bicep, and he started putting filler in there. It’s not considered Synthol,” informed his friendAlthough Piana used various substances, the 46-year-old also never shied away from revealing the harsh truth about the industry. During his lifetime, Piana spoke from experience, raising his voice against unnatural substances that shroud the community in a mysterious veil.
